Periodontal Treatment
Because Oral Care Doesn’t Stop at Your Teeth…
You may brush your teeth twice a day and spend time making sure they look good, but there’s more to your smile than that. Your gums and jaws are the foundations of your smile and are just as important as your teeth.
Spots of blood on your toothbrush are often the most common gum disease symptoms, but this is just the start, and the problems can go deep into your jaw.
During your checkups and hygiene visits, our hygiene team monitor the health of your gums and jaws. Although some symptoms of gum disease are mild, you shouldn’t ignore them. Let us create a personalised treatment plan to reverse any issues.
BOOK CONSULTATION
Fighting Gum Disease
If you’ve noticed a change in your gums, book a periodontal consultation. During the initial consultation, we’ll thoroughly assess your teeth, gums, and jaws, looking for signs of gingivitis and periodontitis.
We’ll then create a treatment plan based on the findings. This could include remedial actions you can complete at home, like changing your brushing and flossing routine, reviewing your diet, or using hygiene treatments.
If you have enlarged pockets around the roots of your teeth, we may recommend a treatment like root planing. This is a cleaning technique that removes tartar from below the gum line. Smoothing your tooth roots and removing bacteria helps reduce the size of these pockets.
In some cases, we may recommend a more advanced technique, such as a bone or gum graft, to repair the damage caused by periodontal disease.
