How Invisalign® Works
Invisalign® aligners are made from a patented clear plastic called SmartTrack. Your removable, custom-made aligner will apply constant gentle pressure across your teeth. Although you won’t feel much, this slight force is enough to gradually move your teeth throughout your treatment.
During your smile journey, we’ll provide you with a new aligner every few weeks. And each new aligner takes you a little closer to your perfect smile. The number of aligners and the length of your treatment will depend on the extent of the tooth movement required.
Unlike fixed braces, you can take your Invisalign® aligner out, so your menu doesn’t need to change. Plus, taking your aligner out also makes it easy to clean the appliance—and your teeth.
The smooth SmartTrack plastic is comfortable and barely noticeable after a day or so. You should wear your aligner for 22 hours daily for the best results.
The Invisalign® Process
From start to finish, the Invisalign® treatment process is straightforward and convenient. There are no uncomfortable adjustments, and the aligners won’t get in the way of enjoying life as usual. Our uncomplicated and relaxed approach makes perfecting your smile seem effortless— even if you’re anxious about dental treatments.
ASSESMENT
We’ll start by assessing your smile using a dental scanner—a quick, non-invasive way to get a digital picture of your teeth and jaws and plan every step of your Invisalign® treatment. The software also shows what you can expect your smile to look like after treatment.
PRODUCTION
If you’re happy to go ahead, the lab will make your bespoke aligners. Once they’re ready, the straightening can begin. We’ll give tips and advice to help you get the best out of your aligner. Then, it’s over to you!
PROGRESS
Throughout your treatment, you’ll switch aligners every two weeks. Our team will check your new smile’s progress at various points to ensure you’re still on track.
